What Should I Expect From A Tour Of This Kind?
Alaska is a very large state and our tours are attraction packed to make sure you get the most out of your vacation. Please expect there to be early mornings and scheduled activities throughout your day, unless otherwise noted as a "time to relax", "reflect" or "on your own time" in your itineraries. In consideration of all tour members, seat rotation will be practiced daily and a no-smoking policy will be enforced on the motorcoach. Frequent stops will be made every two to three hours to accommodate travelers. You will be well fed, you will see a bunch of stuff and you will be tired by the end of the land portion of your trip! HOWEVER, your cruise will be the opposite. You can relax, dine and dance when you want with limited scheduled activities. You can decide if you want to sign up for shore excursions or extend your trip with additional activities. You will also have a John Hall's Alaska Cruise Manager on board to help you with anything that you need.
How Much Cash Should I Bring? Are Credit/Debit Cards Accepted?
VISA, Mastercard and American Express are widely accepted all over Alaska. Of course, the US dollar is the currency accepted as well. If you would like to do a bit of shopping while in Alaska, we recommend that you plan to use your debit/credit card or bring traveler's checks. It is never a great idea to bring large amounts of cash with you when you travel. If you wish to tip your John Hall's Alaska Tour Manager, you may do so by either cash or check.
Is There A Reason To Dress Up On The Land Tour?
Plan on casual, casual and more casual. Even dinners are casual affairs while on land. Most people will wear jeans or dockers, comfortable walking shoes and light weight layered shirts. You need to pack whatever you will be comfortable in.
I Here The Motorcoaches Are Custom Built. What Amenities Do They Have?
Our Customized fleet of motorcoaches are built to our specifications, which means they offer onboard amenities only found with John Hall's Alaska. This includes first-class style leg room, rest rooms, flat screen tvs and Alaska/Yukon libraries. Our coaches are fitted with GALLEYS offering complimentary water, coffee, tea and water-based beverage mixers. 120V power outlets throughout the coach let you charge your electronics and CD/DVD burners allow you to take unlimited pictures during your trip. Everything is free of cost to you, our guest!
Do You Have Assigned Seats On The Motorcoach?
In consideration of all tour members, seat rotation will be practiced daily. Please let us know if you have a handicap and we will do our best to accommodate you in terms of your seat on the motorcoach. Requests of this nature must be made in advance!
Frequent stops will be made every two to three hours to accommodate travelers but the motorcoach had a restroom onboard.
What Is Your Smoking Policy?
A no-smoking policy will be enforced on the motorcoach at all times. Please use designated public smoking areas when necessary on land and at sea. All hotel rooms and cruise cabins are non-smoking.
Will You Be Helping Me With My Luggage?
From the time that you arrive for the start of your tour to the time that you disembark the ship at the end, you will not have to haul your luggage. We will deliver your luggage to your room every night and load your luggage every morning of your land tour. Once at the ship's dock, cruise staff will deliver your bags to your cruise cabin. By placing your bags outside of your cruise cabin on the last evening of your cruise, cruise staff will be able to deliver your luggage to the pier where it will wait for you to claim it after disembarking the ship. All luggage handling is included in the price of your tour.
What Will My Breakfasts, Lunches and Dinners on Land Be Like?
100% of your meals are covered on your CruiseTours with John Hall's Alaska. We have hand picked authentic breakfast, lunch and dinner options for the land portion of your tour. In many cases you will be given a voucher that allows you to pick whatever item you want off of the menu. There is no assigned or requested seating on the land portion of your tour. Please note: Our meals do not include alcoholic beverages. Please let us know in advance if you have a special diet and we will do our very best to accommodate your needs.
