Itinerary

Day 1SITKA

Arrive in Sitka – the ceremonial site for the United States’ 1867 purchase of Alaska from Russia. A John Hall’s Alaska representative greets you at the airport for your transfer to your accommodation for the evening. After lunch, visits to the Fortress of The Bear – an educational rescue center for orphaned bears, and the famous Alaska Raptor Center – a healing and rehabilitation center for injured avian patients, highlight the community’s unique relationship with nature.

Day 2SITKA

Sitka is a special place. Today, the day is open for a leisurely stroll on the Sitka Sea Walk or along the harbor, exploring the shops and sights around town, or taking in optional activities.

Day 3JUNEAU

This morning set sail for Juneau, Alaska’s capital city. Just outside the city sits shimmering Mendenhall Glacier, and a chance to hike, stop in the visitor center, or simply take in the glacial views. Next up is a tour at Glacier Gardens, a unique botanical garden set in the temperate rainforest of the Tongass National Forest. The rest of the day is free for a taste of lively downtown Juneau.

Day 4SKAGWAY

Rich with marine life, today, travel along one of the world’s deepest and longest fjords, the Lynn Canal. After docking in Skagway explore historic buildings along the town’s main street or head to the Gold Rush cemetery. Later, tour Skagway’s most infamous saloon, the Red Onion – built in 1897 and in its heyday one of the finest brothels in town. There is time for optional activities like riding the rails to the White Pass Summit or panning for gold. Take in dinner before sailing to Haines for an overnight.

Day 5HAINES

Experience one of Southeast Alaska’s hidden gems and most scenic communities, Haines. Spend the morning visiting the Tlingit heritage of Haines visiting the Jilkaat Kwaan Heritage Center and village of Klukwan. Enjoy time traveling through one of the greatest densities of bald eagles in the world. Return to Juneau this evening.

Day 6GLACIER BAY NATIONAL PARK

Today is full of surprises on a private small vessel in Glacier Bay National Park, offering a far superior experience in one of the world’s largest protected areas. Near the park’s entrance, sail past South Marble Island – easily spotted by rowdy sea lions, Gulls, Guillemots, and puffins frolicking about and perched on this rocky knob. Deeper in America’s crowning national park view tidewater glaciers, icy blues, and icebergs. Keep watch for bears, whales, moose, eagles, and mountain goats.

It is time to say farewell, and transfer to the airport for your flight home.

LAND TOUR + PLATINUM: When added to one of our interior Alaska land tours, the price also includes the flight from Anchorage to Sitka.

A deposit of $500.00 USD per person is required within ten days of booking your reservation. Deposits are fully refundable up until 90 days prior to departure.

PLATINUM INSIDE PASSAGE: This itinerary begins in Sitka, Alaska, and ends in Juneau, Alaska. If booking only the Platinum Inside Passage Experience, your flights should arrive before 1pm into Sitka at any time on Day 1. On Day 7, flights may depart Juneau after 8am.
