Day 1ANCHORAGE

Welcome to Anchorage, Alaska – the city of lights and flowers! A John Hall’s Alaska representative greets all guests on arrival, escorting to luxury accommodations for the evening. Colorful Anchorage has much to offer for those up for a bit of exploring. Dinner is at leisure.

Day 2ANCHORAGE & CORDOVA

Today’s highlights include a visit to the Anchorage Museum and the Alaska Airlines flight to the quaint Alaska town of Cordova. Situated near the mouth of the Copper River – known for its prolific salmon runs – the only way to town is by plane or by boat. Settle into the lodge and discover one of Alaska’s best-kept secrets and the gateway to Alaska’s wilderness.

Day 3"Pick Your Adventure" Day

There is no better way to experience what makes Alaska special than a day of adventure. Choose one included activity: fishing – for halibut, cod, or salmon; glacier & wildlife helicopter tour; hike to Sheridan Glacier with glacier kayaking; sightseeing along the Copper River Delta with visits to two local museums. Enjoy a cozy bonfire before retiring for the evening.

Day 4PRINCE WILLIAM SOUND & VALDEZ

Wilderness, wildlife, and glaciers sum up the day! Board a privately chartered sightseeing vessel and cruise Prince William Sound to the glacier-lined port of Valdez, and southern terminus of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System. Amidst the mountainous backdrop of the Chugach National Forest, watch for whales, sea lions, otters, harbor seals, puffins, and eagles while cruising about the Sound’s many islands and fjords.

Day 5PRINCE WILLIAM SOUND & COLUMBIA GLACIER

Board a privately chartered sightseeing vessel this morning and journey through the majestic Columbia Bay on the way to Columbia Glacier, the largest glacier in Prince William Sound. Experience spectacular calving events and close encounters with wildlife. This pristine wilderness is home to a variety of whales, along with Dall’s porpoise, seals, Stellar sea lions and more! Keep those eyes peeled and cameras handy as the captain navigates through the Sound. Lunch will be hosted on board and dinner may be enjoyed at leisure this evening in Valdez.

Day 6KEYSTONE CANYON & DENALI HIGHWAY

En route to Denali National Park today, pass through Keystone Canyon to witness an impressive display of cascading waterfalls and steep slate walls. On what National Geographic referred to as one of the top ten scenic highways in the world, travel the Denali Highway – extremely beautiful and mostly unpaved, following the Alaska mountain range and Hayes Range towards Denali National Park. Be on the lookout for caribou, bear, moose and wolves. Enjoy an evening of comfort at the gates of Denali National Park.

Day 7DENALI NATIONAL PARK

After a morning full of adventure with the second “Pick Your Adventure” Day choosing between ATV, ziplining, helicopter landing and whitewater rafting, the afternoon is spent making the 6-hour, 92-mile journey into the heart of Denali National Park, experiencing the captivating wildlife, scenery and mountain before arriving to Kantishna. Experience two evenings sitting on the banks of historic gold panning grounds at Denali Backcountry Lodge. Relax surrounded by the sounds of nature in quaint, Alaska-cozy style accommodations.

Day 8KANTISHNA

After a relaxing morning, spend the remainder of the day at leisure with ample opportunities to take in Alaska style activities including a guided trek through Denali National Park, visiting infamous Wonder Lake, take a flightseeing trip around Mount Denali, learn to gold pan or spend the day at leisure while sitting alongside the banks of the river. The remote nature of Denali Backcountry Lodge makes for the most luxurious experience awaiting in Alaska.

Day 9IDITAROD KENNEL EXPERIENCE & TALKEETNA

After an early morning, journey 92 miles back to the gates of Denali National Park. Along the way, keep your eyes peeled for early morning wildlife out as the sun rises. Board the luxury Alaska Railroad GoldStar glass-domed railcar service and head for Talkeetna with lunch onboard. This evening, enjoy a private dog sledding demonstration at a working sled dog kennel. At a private presentation on dog mushing, learn what it takes to prep for a race like the Iditarod and spend time with the pups. After puppy time, return to the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge for the evening.

Day 10DEVIL’S CANYON & ANCHORAGE

This morning, join the historic Mahay family for a 5-hour jet boat adventure through Devil’s Canyon and a chance to get closer to Mount Denali! Guided by naturalists, enjoy a nature walk to an encampment of early settlers, get acquainted with wildflowers and plants along the river, and search for wildlife. Later, wind up the day back in Anchorage for the final evening and enjoy a farewell dinner with the group.

ARRANGING YOUR FLIGHTS

This tour begins and ends in Anchorage, Alaska. On Day 1, flights should arrive by 6pm; early check-in cannot be guaranteed before 4pm. On Day 11, flights may depart Anchorage after 8am. Flights to Cordova are included in the experience.
