Day 1ANCHORAGE

Welcome to Anchorage, Alaska! A John Hall’s Alaska representative greets all guests on arrival. Transfer to luxury downtown accommodations. Dinner is at guests’ leisure.

Day 2ANCHORAGE HIGHLIGHTS

Start the day with a Welcome Breakfast to meet fellow traveling companions. Enjoy the sights and highlights of the Anchorage area starting with an Anchorage city tour. Visit the colorful Anchorage Museum, then travel south along Turnagain Arm to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center.

Day 3TALKEETNA

Depart Anchorage this morning to make the trip north on the Parks Highway, reaching the south side of Mount Denali and Alaska Range. En route, stop at the historic Alaska Native Heritage Center to experience the Indigenous cultures of Alaska’s vast regions. Next, stop at the Iditarod Headquarters to learn more about The Last Great Race. Settle into the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge overlooking the south face of Mount Denali.

Day 4TALKEETNA & DENALI NATIONAL PARK

Enjoy a leisurely morning before a breathtaking flight around Mount Denali. This afternoon, join the luxury motorcoach to travel farther north to Denali National Park. Accommodations this evening sit near Denali National Park and are complete with a sauna, firepit and Alaska’s nature experience.

Day 5DENALI NATIONAL PARK

The wildlife and sun both rise early in Alaska. Eary this morning, board a sightseeing bus and venture 42-miles deep into Denali National Park. Be sure to bring a camera and binoculars! Returning to the park’s gates, enjoy some rest and relaxation while taking a moment to soak it in.

Day 6ALASKA RAILROAD & FAIRBANKS

Enjoy a leisurely morning with one last chance to explore Denali National Park with an add on optional adventure activity. This afternoon, board the Alaska Railroad GoldStar class of service, complete with glass-domed ceilings, for the ultimate experience. Travel to Fairbanks with dinner served on board.

Day 7FAIRBANKS & TOK

After a hearty breakfast, view vintage treads and threads at Fountainhead Antique Auto Museum, home to a world-class collection of vintage automobiles and fashions. Visit Trail Breaker Kennel – home of the late four-time Iditarod champion Susan Butcher – for an exclusive look at kennel life and a dog mushing demonstration. After lunch and time snuggling the puppies, board the motorcoach for a scenic drive to Tok.

Day 8TOP OF THE WORLD HIGHWAY & DAWSON CITY

A full day of driving requires two things, top-notch scenery, and a luxury ride – John Hall’s standard includes both. Settle in while the route runs parallel to the majestic Alaska Range, one of the highest in the world. The last stop before joining the Top of the World Highway and crossing the Canadian border is the busy metropolis of Chicken, Alaska (population 12). Arrive in Dawson City, Yukon, and enjoy two nights in this historic town.

Day 9DAWSON CITY

Back in the day, Dawson City was the center of the Klondike Gold Rush. Learn the town’s history on a tour, and at Goldbottom Mine, the only authentic operating placer gold mine in the Klondike, learn about everything from staking a claim to selling gold. Like the old-timers, guests have a chance to pan for gold and strike it rich in the mine’s historic gold fields! At Diamond Tooth Gerties Gambling Hall, take in the Cancan show, and try the famous Sourtoe Cocktail challenge.

Day 10WHITEHORSE

Witness Moose Creek, Pelly Crossing, and Five Finger Rapids while traveling the Klondike Highway on the way to Whitehorse. With the discovery of gold, by 1897 stampeders had arrived by steamship and set up camp. During the hunt for gold, a rich copper belt was discovered in the surrounding hills. Spend the evening strolling the streets of Whitehorse, located on the banks of the Yukon River.

Day 11SKAGWAY, LYNN CANAL & HAINES

Travel to Fraser, BC, and board the White Pass & Yukon Route Railway for a scenic journey dropping 3,000 feet in elevation in just 20 miles! Built during the 1898 gold rush, travel the trail of long-ago fortune seekers to Skagway. Explore the town’s historic sights before boarding a privately chartered day vessel for a sail through the upper Lynn Canal, traveling south to Haines, one of Alaska’s hidden gems.

Day 12HAINES, KLUKWAN AND CHILKAT PRESERVE

Begin the day with a drive through the Chilkat Valley and Bald Eagle Preserve, before arriving in Klukwan, home of the Tlingit people. Keep the cameras ready as the vessel sails through the remainder of the Lynn Canal, traveling towards Alaska’s capital city, Juneau.

Day 13TRACY ARM FJORD

Set sail for Tracy Arm Fjord – the heart of the Tracy Arm-Fords Terror Wilderness – and the twin Sawyer Glaciers. Cruise pristine waters while exploring the area’s waterfalls, glaciers, and icebergs, and watching for marine life. Enjoy a special Farewell Dinner at Orca Point Lodge this evening.

Day 14JUNEAU

After breakfast, transfer to the Juneau airport for a scheduled flight.

Arranging Your Flights

This tour begins in Anchorage, Alaska and ends in Juneau, Alaska. On Day 1, flights should arrive in Anchorage by 4pm; early check-in cannot be guaranteed before 4pm. On Day 14, flights may depart Juneau after 8am. Transportation will be provided to and from the airport. It is recommended guests consider arriving a day early.
