Itinerary

Day 1ANCHORAGE

Welcome to the metropolitan city of Anchorage, Alaska! A John Hall’s Alaska representative greets all guests on arrival. Transfer to the luxury downtown accommodations for the evening. Enjoy a group welcome dinner this evening with fellow traveling companions and preparation of upcoming days with tour representatives.

Day 2NOME

Begin the day with breakfast, followed by a commercial flight traveling Anchorage to Nome. Land alongside the Bering Sea for a day of touring Nome’s goldrush history and the infamous finish line of The Last Great Race, The Iditarod.

Day 3ANCHORAGE

After breakfast, return to Anchorage on a commercial flight for one more evening. On arrival, head to lunch at a historical landmark restaurant overlooking Cook Inlet, Simon and Seafort’s. Following lunch, an Anchorage city tour awaits followed by a visit to the Anchorage Museum.

Day 4ANCHORAGE & KODIAK

Late this morning, depart for Anchorage International Airport before joining an Alaska Airlines commercial flight to Kodiak Island. The friendly fishing town welcomes visitors for the next two evenings, with the hotel situated overlooking Kodiak Harbor. Enjoy a city tour and visit a World War II historical sight, Fort Abercrombie, before retiring to the hotel for the evening.

Day 5KODIAK WILDLIFE REFUGE & KODIAK BEARS

Today is a day of breaktaking adventure. Board a private aircraft traveling over the Katmai area volcanos and glaciers, landing in remote Alaska to witness one of the two largest bears in existence. The massive Kodiak Brown Bears spend their days feeding on salmon in the wild. After returning to Kodiak, visit the 200-year-old National Historic Landmark building housing the Kodiak History Museum.

Day 6ANCHORAGE & TALKEETNA

Relax this morning before returning to Anchorage. Experience the flavor of one of Anchorage’s local breweries with lunch followed by a brewery tour. Depart Anchorage traveling to Talkeetna for one evening, but not before a visit to the home of Alaska’s gentle giants, The Musk Ox Farm. Enjoy dinner and accommodations with a view of Mount Denali’s south face at the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge.

Day 7DENALI NATIONAL PARK

This morning, depart on one of the pillars of the ultimate Alaska experience, the Alaska Railroad with GoldStar service from Talkeetna to Denali National Park. Upon arriving, spend time at the Denali National Park Visitor Center before settling into the accommodations for the evening, the Denali Cabins, complete with a fire pit, sauna and quiet, Alaska style accommodations.

Day 8BOREALIS BASECAMP

Alaska wildlife is stirring early, and schances are Denali National Park visitors will, also. Depart on the 42-mile Denali National Park wildlife tour early this morning. Enjoy lunch before traveling north on the Parks Highway to Fairbanks. Continue driving north an additional 25 miles on the Elliott Highway, arriving Borealis Basecamp, the home for the next two evenings. Each room is an igloo style dome which allows for aurora chasing from individual comfy accommodations.

Day 9"PICK YOUR ADVENTURE" DAY

Today is the guests’ choice! A variety of activities will be available including dogsledding, UTV, sauna and even an enhanced helicopter opportunity over the mountains and plains surrounding Borealis Basecamp. Spend another evening chasing the Aurora Borealis from outdoors or the comfort of your private accommodations.

Day 10FAIRBANKS & TRAIL BREAKER KENNEL

After a leisurely morning, return to Fairbanks, affectionately referred to as the Golden Heart City, located in the center of Alaska. Enjoy a visit to Trail Breaker Kennel – home to the late four-time Iditarod Champion Susan Butcher – for an exclusive look at the Iditarod mushing lifestyle and what it takes to be successful. Visit the Fountainhead Antique Auto Museum before arriving at the Bear Lodge, the accommodations for the evening. A group farewell dinner awaits this evening!

Following breakfast, transfer to the Fairbanks International Airport to catch your departure flight from Fairbanks, Alaska.

A deposit of $500.00 USD per person is required within ten days of booking your reservation. Deposits are fully refundable up until 90 days prior to departure.

Arranging Your Flights

This tour begins in Anchorage, Alaska, and ends in Fairbanks, Alaska. Flights are recommended to arrive before 9pm on Day 1; early check-in cannot be guaranteed before 4pm. On Day 11, flights may depart Fairbanks after 6am. Transportation will be provided to and from airports. We highly recommend guests consider arriving into Alaska a day early.
