Itinerary

Day 1Fairbanks

Welcome to Fairbanks – the golden heart of Alaska! Upon arrival, you will be greeted at the airport by a John Hall’s Alaska representative and transferred to Sophie Station Suites, your accommodation for the evening. The remainder of the day is open for exploring. Enjoy an optional aurora viewing opportunity tonight away from the city lights and experience the breathtaking view of the evening sky.

Day 2DOG SLEDDING, CURLING & AURORA VIEWING

After a group welcome breakfast and a leisurely morning around the lodge, it is off to Trail Breaker Kennel for dog sled rides with a behind-the-scenes look at the kennel and the Monson family homestead. After lunch, get competitive with a visit to the Fairbanks Curling Club where you learn to curl before traveling north to Borealis Basecamp. This evening, half of the group will attend a presentation by the Aurora Bear Photography team at the home of professional photographer Frank Stelges. Learn tips to capture the aurora as you learn about this fascinating phenomenon in the sky. Enjoy aurora viewing into the early morning hours.

Day 3BOREALIS BASECAMP PICK YOUR ADVENTURE DAY

After a late night of aurora viewing, sleep in and enjoy breakfast at your leisure. Then, launch into miles of wilderness with a variety of included outdoor activities to choose from today. Tonight, the other half of your group enjoys a photography lesson given by Aurora Bear, Frank Stelges. Watch the Aurora dance in the skies above from your private domed room tonight.

Day 4TALKEETNA & NORTHERN LIGHTS

Sleep in and then travel by coach to Talkeetna via the Parks Highway. Make a lunch stop in Healy at Rose’s Cafe before arriving in Talkeetna later this evening for dinner and local entertainment. The Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge will have a fire roaring in the fireplace into the early morning hours for those who elect to view the Northern Lights and Denali from the lodge’s expansive back porch.

Day 5DENALI FLIGHTSEEING & TALKEETNA

Rise and shine! The day begins with a private group brunch. Afterward, enjoy a 1.5-hour flightseeing tour that not only highlights Denali, but includes a fly-by of Hunter, Foraker, Silverthorne, and Moose’s Tooth Peaks before landing in the Great Gorge. There is time this afternoon to stroll around downtown Talkeetna, before a tasty dinner in a favorite local hot spot. Back at the lodge, the fire will again be roaring for those who wish to spend the evening hours outdoors.

Day 6ANCHORAGE & BREWERY TOUR

Wake up to spectacular views of Denali from the lodge before making your way south to Anchorage – the city of lights! At Glacier Brewhouse, enjoy a behind-the-scenes tour with lunch followed by a visit to the colorful Anchorage Museum. Make your way to the luxury Hotel Captain Cook, your home for the last two nights. Savor a delicious dinner with a view this evening while reminiscing with your travel companions about the week’s adventures!

Day 7PICK YOUR ADVENTURE DAY

Create your own adventure today! You have the option of choosing between a day on the slopes (including lift ticket & rental gear), a day at the spa (choose from a pre-selected menu of relaxing treatments), a spring marine wildlife cruise from Seward, or a helicopter flightseeing trip over the Chugach Mountains. Dine at your leisure tonight at Hotel Captain Cook.

Day 8ANCHORAGE - FLY HOME

After an incredible journey, it is time to transfer to the Anchorage International Airport for your homebound flight and bid farewell to the Great Land.

A deposit of $500.00 USD per person is required within ten days of booking your reservation. Deposits are fully refundable up until 90 days prior to departure.

LAND: This tour begins in Fairbanks, Alaska and ends in Anchorage, Alaska. Flights must arrive before 6pm on Day 1; early check-in cannot be guaranteed before 4pm. On Day 8, flights may depart Anchorage after 8am.
